Mog Figures Out RSS Feeds

Hi!! Short post here as I try to figure out how RSS feeds work, as I'm trying to get one operating for this blog.

For those that aren't aware (frankly like myself), RSS is a web feed that lets you see data and updates from sites without actually having to go to them. Basically, it lets you see your friends posts on Bluesky, Tumblr, and whatever places they post (that have support for it).

After talking with my friend Alyssa about the Worst Fucking Social Media I've Ever Seen, I got reminded of these, and realized that, A) I don't know how they work, B) I don't have support for them on my own site, and C) it would be cool to learn that. So that's what I'm doing!

Finding an RSS reader was quite easy - thank you freemediaheckyeah once again for being a great resource for quite literally everything. I haven't set one up for my desktop, but Feeder has been quite great for Android. It's pretty simple to get set up - just kind of linking the profile or a subsection of it. Again, haven't really tried much, but this is cool and nice.

Now, I'm onto setting up a feed for my own blog. As I've mentioned before, for this site I use the blogging engine Zonelets, which is pretty common, so upon Googling if there was a way to set one up already implemented, I came across zoneRSS! So far, it seems to be a pretty good tool, but I suppose we'll have to test it. Hopefully this is all good!!

Update 1

It seems to all work!! Yippee!! I previously deleted the post template (for some reason) which broke it for a moment, but we got that figured out, so the new post functionality now works!

Apparently zoneRSS also has some additional integration features to make the workflow of making posts better, but also that seems like more work, so I'll save that for a rainy day.

For those interested in adding my blog to their RSS reader, you can find that here. Okay, that should be all, bye!!!
